Welcome to the Slough Children First Procedures Manual for the Breakaway Short Breaks Unit

These are some of the key elements you need to be aware of:

• Contents - this contains the main policies and procedures for the homes. Some of these will be kept in the Practice Guidance section so you should use that section to;
• Local Resources - contains local guidance, tools and other information that supports and complements the policies and procedures in the procedures section.

You should also use the Pan Berks Child Protection Procedures and the Slough Safeguarding Partnership website which contain the guidance on safeguarding topics to help keep the children we work with to be safe and able to develop to their full potential.
